A programme for young professionals

Welcome to Linköping University and the programme SeGRID – Sustainable e-Government for Resilience, Innovation and Democracy. The programme has taken place and been developed yearly since 2017. Digitalization gives rise to new demands from and opportunities for citizens, professionals, and policy makers. These fluid and overarching processes challenge contemporary means of governance, calling for a need of smart and sustainable use of digital technologies. 

• SeGRID’s curricula aims to develop skills for improving core public values such as efficiency, transparency, accessibility, equality, and other public values by the smart and sustainable use of digital technologies. 
• SeGRID focuses on the digitalization of government services and administration, conceptualized as e-government.
• SeGRID aims to develop skills and build knowledge to address the challenges surrounding sustainable e-government - such as resilience, innovation and democracy in a digital society.
• SeGRID participants engage with these issues through interactive learning anchored in both theory and practice.

Who is eligible to participate?

The programme has two versions: One for young professionals from the Western Balkan focusing on democratic digital governance, and one for young professionals from the Baltic Region and the Eastern Partnership focusing on sustainable digital governance.

To be eligible to participate in the Western Balkan programme you must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro or Serbia.

To be eligible to participate in the Eastern Partnership and Baltic Region programme you must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine or Sweden.

Due to the current situation in Europe, you do not need to be currently residing in your country of citizenship. Citizens of other countries in the regions who are currently employed in one of the participant countries may also apply, but will not have priority in the selection of candidates.

We welcome all the key actors involved in digitalization of public administration and public services. The module is targeted towards:

• public servants, decisions-makers and policy makers in public administration and political parties
• employees in civil society organizations

In order to be eligible, you also have to:

• Have a good command of the English language
