State of Play of the Implementation of the Projects on the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures Roadmap 2010

The EC has published a report on the “State of Play of the Implementation of the Projects on the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures Roadmap 2010”, which gives an overview of the challenges experienced by the ESFRI projects as they move towards implementation. The report covers the 38 projects that are listed on the 2010 version of the ESFRI Roadmap and highlights the bottlenecks and challenges faced by the ESFRI projects as they progress towards implementation and lists a number of recommendations for the projects.

The EC’s Innovation Union policy initiative has set a target of 60 per cent of ESFRI projects reaching implementation by 2015. The report concludes that 27 projects (56 per cent of the 48

ESFRI projects) are currently under implementation, and hence the target set in the Innovation Union should be achievable.
