A revamped web portal has been launched on July 14, 2010 as the European Commission's Science in Society programme consolidates its ambitious approach based on mobilising societal and research actors to tackle major societal challenges. The new Science in Society website explains in a clear and succinct way the many policy and research activities that the programme supports.

It also contains such useful sections as "funding" – explaining how to get funded under the programme or "tools" – gathering a number of useful tools and instruments produced through projects funded under the programme, which can be used by Science in society practitioners. The "highlights" and "hot topics" sections provide the reader with news about the latest publications, projects or debates in the area of Science in Society. The vast "e-library" section contains a wealth of publications dating back to the beginning of the programme in 2001.

The new Science in Society portal will remain an excellent point of reference for anyone interested in the quickly consolidating area of science and society relations.
