News archive - Panel Discussion “Young People – Our Present” held in Belgrade
On December 14, 2012 researchers of the Regional Research Promotion Programme supported research project Youth– Actors of Social Change organised a panel discussion on the status of young people in Serbia. The panel presented the survey “Young People – Our Present. Exploring Social Biographies of Young People in Serbia”.
Project leader Smiljka Tomanović explained the importance of conducting research into the institutional and cultural contexts in Serbian society and the position of its youth. She also provided recommendations based on the research findings that might be useful in creating youth policy measures.
Additional speakers provided their insight on the book, discussing salient points with participants. These speakers include Anđelka Milić, the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade; Sergej Flere, the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Maribor; Jana Vlajković, the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia; Jelena Milovanović, of the NGO ‘Civic Initiatives’; and Ivana Milanović Hrašovec, fom the magazine “Vreme“. Mihajlo Đukić the RRPP Local Coordinator for Serbia presented the current RRPP programme and its activities in Serbia thus far.
