WBC INCO NET workshop, took place in Belgrade on May 8th, 2008. The training workshops for reserach managers have been organised in the framework of the WBC-INCO.NET project in Belgrade, Serbia, on May 8, 2008, at the Serbian Chamber of Economy by Slovenian Business & Research Association in collaboration with Serbian Economic Chamber, Ministry of Science, and European Centre for Peace and Development, Belgrade.

Serbia-Newcastle Research Collaboration Day took place on 17th June 2008.Professor Steve Quarrie, Director of Consultative Bureau for International Projects that is formed recently as an extension of the Dept. for International cooperation (Ministry of Science of the Republic of Serbia) for permanent support of Serbian researchers, visited Newcastle University to talk about the Serbian research landscape.

The Ministry of Science organized general info day for researchers in Belgrade on 8th July 2008. A number of preparatory workshops targeted to different topics and interested groups will follow after this event.

Regarding bilateral cooperation, Serbia signed first agreement on scientific collaboration with Croatia.The first document on the scientific collaboration between Serbia and Croatia was signed on December 20th, 2007, during the first meeting of the Serbo-Croatian joint commission by Prof. Viktor Nedovic, Assistant Minister for international cooperation at the Ministry of Science, Republic of Serbia, and Prof. Radovan Fuchs, Assistant Minister for International cooperation at the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sport. This document will ensure that funding is provided for collaborative projects and for scientists from Serbia and Croatia to visit and work with each other. Several fields of research were recognized as the fields of mutual priority: biomedicine, environmental research, biotechnology, developing an information society, material science, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and social sciences.

Serbia also signed with Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst-DAAD bilateral Programme of researchers mobility.

The Ministry of Science of the Republic of Serbia and Deutcher Akademischer Austauschdienst-DAAD signed in 2007 the bilateral Programme of researcher’s mobility. The aim of the Programme is scientific cooperation development between Republic of Serbia and Federal republic of Germany through exchanges of scientists, especially young ones, through joint research projects.

According to the Programm aim, the German and Serbian side, DAAD and Ministry of Science, published the Call on 6 of June 2008. The Call will be open until 31 of July 2008, evaluation of proposals from both sides will be done during the second part of the year and the realization of the projects that will be supported should start as from 1st of January 2009.

On May 23rd 2008, a collaboration program was signed by the representatives of Serbian and Indian Governments. The Minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Vuk Jeremić, signed the agreement on behalf of Serbia and the Indian Ambassador in Serbia, his Excellency Ajay Swarup signed it on behalf of India.
