News archive - [Event Announcement] Implementation of Sustainability into Research and Teaching of Higher Education Institutions in Eastern Europe

The Institute for Environmental and Sustainability Communication of Leuphana University Lüneburg is organising an International Summer School on “Implementation of Sustainability into Research and Teaching of Higher Education Institutions in Eastern Europe” to take place from September 19 to 21, 2011 in Lueneburg, Germany.

Due date for application is May 15, 2011.

The Summer School aims to encourage the implementation of sustainability into research and teaching of East European universities – both in terms of higher education policy frameworks and transformation of higher education institutions. The participants will also have the possibility to attend the 4th International Conference of the UNESCO Chair ‘Higher Education for Sustainable Development’ as part of the agenda. The Summer School will be financially supported by the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU).

The organisers cordially invite actors who are working in the field of higher education and in the field of education for sustainable development in exemplary operating universities, decision makers in the higher education sector, actors from intermediary organizations for higher education as well as “multipliers” to attend to this International Summer School.
