News archive - Event Announcement: Evidence Based Policy Making

On June 19-20, 2008 the NPO, the Network on Public Research Programming, The Netherlands, is organizing a conference on Evidence Based Policy Making: International Best Practices in connecting Science and Policy in De Bazel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Registration for the event is open. Registrations by April 28, 2008 benefit from an early-bird rate.

The aim of this conference is to connect a broad range of views, internationally as well as transdisciplinary on ‘Evidence Based Policy Making’. Seasoned policy makers and experienced researchers from all over the world will give an insight into their own experiences, providing you with ample examples and concrete tools for evidence based policy making.

Promoting good practice in policy making is fundamental to the delivery of high quality outcomes for citizens and to the realization of public sector goals. This NPO conference intends to explore how to contribute to the realization of effective policy through structured knowledge management. This conference will also explore opportunities to structure the international exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Dr. Roland Schenkel, Director-General of the JRC, will chair the session "Evidence Based Policy Making: Regional perspectives: Europe".
