Main Objectives:
To provide national case studies specific for each of the four countries, containing an overall analysis of dominant news media representations of the Europeanisation process and the EU/Europe.
To provide a comparative analysis of dominant news media representations in the Europeanisation process and the EU/Europe in general.
Providing, for each country separately, an in-depth critical discourse analysis of mediated Europeanisation discourse.
Providing a comparative in-depth critical discourse analysis with a focus on discursive constitution, legitimisation and contestation of Europeanisation.
Expected Outputs:
The main academic output will be an edited volume consisting of case studies from these four countries, complete with two comparative analyses.
Two conferences (in Novi Sad and Sarajevo) will be organised in order to present the research to a wider academic audience.
A roundtable discussion will be organised as part of the Novi Sad conference. It is here where Western Balkan journalists will share their perspectives on
Europeanisation.
In June 2013, each team/institution will organise local presentations of their research results.
