Description

The Consumer Organization of Macedonia – COM, is an independent, nongovernmental, nonpartisan organization, founded in 1996 in Skopje, Macedonia. According to the Statute of the organization in COM, individual and collective members are allowed to participate in the Organization. The Organization pursues its activities within the following spheres: • Undertaking initiatives for promotion of the legislative for consumers’ protection in the Republic of Macedonia; • Identification of the problems, and analysis of the consumers’ needs and their presentation in front of the competent institutions and the broader public, aimed at contributing to the development of a consistent consumer policy in the Republic of Macedonia; • Education, information, counseling, and representation of the consumers’ interests; • Influencing the development of the civil society by putting the focus of its operation on the consumer movement; • Cooperation with the citizens for introduction of their role in the market economy, and in the development of democracy; • Cooperation with non-governmental organizations in the Republic of Macedonia that have a mission directly or indirectly aimed at protection of consumer rights.
